4MURS is a property listings site for Cameroon. Furnished apartments, studios, rooms and houses to rent in Douala, Yaounde, Kribi, Bafoussam, Buea, Limbe and beyond.
The problem we are trying to fix
Looking for somewhere to live in Cameroon is not short of listings. There are thousands, scattered across WhatsApp groups, Facebook pages, “to let” boards and neighbourhood brokers.
The problem is somewhere else. It is knowing which ones are real.
You know how it goes. The photo is of a different apartment. The advertised price is not the price asked. The place was taken three months ago but the listing is still circulating. Or you are asked for 5,000 FCFA in “viewing fees” before anyone will show you anything — and sometimes there is nothing to show.
The result is wasted days, transport paid for nothing, and a level of mistrust that ends up costing everyone, including the honest landlords whose listings drown in the noise.
What we do differently
We do not publish everything. Every listing is checked before it becomes visible:
- At least four real photos — exterior, living room, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom. No 3D renders, no images found online, no screenshots.
- The neighbourhood is required. Not “Douala”, but Bonamoussadi, Bonapriso, Makepe. You know where the place is before you travel.
- The advertised price is the real rent, in FCFA, with the deposit stated in months.
- All fees are declared. Deposit, viewing fee, agency fee: every listing states them, and the total to budget is worked out for you. A fee demanded but not declared gets the account removed.
- Listings age out. With no update for 60 days, a listing automatically drops out of results.

4MURS is deliberately light. No interactive map, no animated carousel, almost no JavaScript. A page loads in under a second, including on a limited data plan and an entry-level phone.
The site also adds to your phone’s home screen like an app, and stays readable when the connection drops.
For landlords and agencies
Listing is free. A compliant listing is reviewed and published within 24 working hours.
In exchange we expect rigour: real photos, an honest price, and the listing taken down as soon as the place is let. Someone who follows those rules gets more views, because visitors learn to recognise serious listings.
